Voting along party lines- forgot about that one Attalus!

This information has really helped me out! Keep it going!

No worrys Neuromancer, a friend told me one time that threads are not ones own but belong to the forum and all of its members. I really enjoy the humor in IW and wouldn't ever not want some in any topic I started

I will follow up with with my own voting history and record later on. -S-

Yes.

2.Do you look at the National picture or your local needs?

Depends on the election. If it's a local or State election, then I vote for what or who I think is best for my community. In a National elections I look at the natioanl picture. Sometimes that's not necessarily what is best for my local community.

3.Do you vote for the encumbant that has done ok or go with "the new guy" who has fresh legs and new ideas?

The Best person.

4.Do you research your politicians past voting record or go by word of mouth?

Both.

5.Do you pay attension to all the negative media or research your politician?

Both.

6.Do you vote picking the better of the two jsut to say you voted for someone even thow your not happy with it?

I ALWAYS vote for the best person available.

And if you could help me understand how voting is done in your country I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

We use an electronic voting booth. We also have early voting. I voted last week.

BTW, there is nothing wrong with voting party line as long as that's what you agree with. I typically vote Republican nationally but not locally.

3.Do you vote for the encumbant that has done ok or go with "the new guy" who has fresh legs and new ideas? Best person for the job also
4.Do you research your politicians past voting record or go by word of mouth?I eye up the voting past of each chioce
5.Do you pay attension to all the negative media or research your politician?I get sick of it and turn the channel but always keep an eye on the daily paper for any written facts presented to me
6.Do you vote picking the better of the two jsut to say you voted for someone even thow your not happy with it?Best person again

And if you could help me understand how voting is done in your country I would greatly appreciate it. Ballot cards punched by machine [/QB]

Even when I was overseas I still had the absente ballot sent to me and participated that way. I wasn't very well informed at that time but voted along party lines.

My Dad ran for congress a long time ago but didn't make it through the Rep primarys. The Dem was heavily favored to win that seat and did anyway. He ended up a couple years later running for State Assembly and held that position until he retired an ornery conservative Law maker.
Help me
