This is a very good movie. It occurs in Saigon in the 1950s, just when the US was beginning to get involved and just prior to the French exit. Michael Caine (who I normally don't like but who did very well), Brandon Fraiser (who actually can act, believe it or not), and one of the most beautiful Vietname women you'll ever lay eyes on.

Aye, I agree whole heartedly. Also an interesting fact about the book it is based on. It was written and published before the US started getting heavily involved in Vietnam (1955). I am not sure how much was added to the movie to fore-shadow later events, but it was strikingly prophetic writting on Graham Greene's part.
