***** Welcome to the Poison Information Hotline *****

As far as I know, the only way to prevent someone getting poisoned is for them to have very high/full poison resistance. The main way of doing this is having Lizzord characters or using items that raise poison resistance, such as Sylvan Rings (available from the temple).

If you have a Lizzord character, cast lure on him/her. I think that should get the priests to focus their spells on that character.....

Or you could just use the 4th level (or is it 5th level?) Vine spell, Cure Poison.

Poison isn't too bad. If your happy keeping a close eye on your characters' health, leave them poisoned and just heal them now and then. Mana regenerates faster than the poison can do damage

You should be able to find cure poison potions on the corpses of the priests.

*Note: Algamesh's Amulet works well; I think it gives high poison resistance as well as the ability to cure poison a few times.

(Is the poison resistance with the amulet available only when playing on hard?)

Hope this helps,

Moiraine Sedai

It cannot be mended. Almost everything in the Serpent Temple is poisonous: the priests, serpents, spiders,... Only monkeys are harmless
What to do?
1. Do not haste with curing poison if you do not have curing resources. As long as your guys are losing 1 HP per poison hit, the situation isn't critical. Cast the Heal spell every now and then. Start curing only if you see that healing HP isn't enough effective.
2. The Algamesh Amulet gives one of your guys 50% of poison resistance. Bungleau has foud out that you can buy the amulet back from Kerielle after exchanging it for the Kerielle's Potion. Therefore, you can gain any number of Kerielle's Potions from Kerielle by repeated giving the amulet and buying it back and, moreover, you can own both the potion and the amulet in the Serpent Temple.
3. The Cure Poison spell will solve all your problems with the poisoning. It's a level 4 Vine spell. The spell never fails (unless the spellcaster is a boogre). Gain the spell ASAP.

Unfortunately (if this is your first time around), unless you're a Lizzord with the Algemesh (sp?) necklace, the only way a character can get decent protection is to equip all those Poison Resist Rings that you can buy in the Temple Guild...

Like many other areas in the game, the traits (or is it Characteristics?) that you really need in the area like (Snakeskin in the Serpent Temple and Iron Lung in the underwater city) you recieve only after completeing the area...

As Radek said everything in the Serpent temple is poisonous. The poison even travels through walls but you won't get any damage from the spell. Really strange that one. ANyway he gave you an excellent tip, don't cast it immediately. The Serpent temple poison is rather slow working.

Of course enchantments work wonders, but if you have a low level party that is not particularly relevant.

Remember that the spider nectar works as a cure poison potion, but remember also to keep at least one for the summoning ritual.

If you have the sufficient spells to keep your party invisible, then that is a great way to avoid being poisoned.

You can get the snakeskin trait for one of your characters at the end of the dungeon. Just remember not to kill the naga in the first place.

If you do not have the cure poison spell for a spellcaster who can learn vine magic, you might want to wait with teaching him or her the spell, since the book of cure poison is situated in a treasure chest in the great auditorium at the end of the dungeon.

either that or u can sacrifice A BIT OF GOLD to buy massive number of poison curing potions. they are perishable and is needed in great amounts, but it can really help sometimes, especially if u can complete the serpent temple in QUITE a rush...!

Try doing a search using the keywords "KILL NAGA" and you will find lots of advice and hints!

My personal approach was to get in close and hit the naga hard and as fast as possible. Don't think I used any spells at all. If you're characters are fast enough, they can prevent the naga from actually striking the party most of the time. Then it's just a matter of reducing the hit points until the Naga dies.

Hope you will find some strategy that will work for you!

The spells of a low level party are next to useless against the naga. You will have to resort to melee attacks, so prepare for a long battle. (And look forward to your second completion of the game where you will easily be able to fry her with your spells).
