Hmph. Whenever I watch TV, a cartoon is usually among those watched (several, in fact). I'd have to say in relative terms of age, probably the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

But what is anime really, except well-drawn cartoons made by Japanese people? How is it really different from what you call a cartoon? [/QUOTE]Good question, my interpretation is that anime are mostly japanese created animation or any animation that are influnce by japanese type of animation drawing. confuse?

So, it's all right if we slap a lable on American-made cartoons and categorize them separately from the whole genre?

Anybody out there old enough to remember the old D&D cartoon? Mmm, acrobat... Or what about the old Gummy Bears, Duck Tales or (older) the Mon Chi-Chis or the Snorks!

"They are the Mon Chi-Chis
And they live in the TREES!
Everybody loves the Mon Chi-Chis..."

Argh...acid flashback...

What about Astroboy?!! One of the earliest animes to hit the west. A robot kid takin' on 2,000,000 horsepower robots with his headlamp eyes, laser beams out of his fingers and a machine gun out of his ass. Hilarious. A retro, cult classic!
