Im getting this strange thing... some 20-30 minutes into the game the gamne will suddenly freeze. After some time the message will appear about program causing an error and it has to close and whether I would like to send a report (am using windows xp).
Now I think the best thing for me to do is reinstall. My question is is there a way To keep the patch so that after reinstalling I dont have to download it again... I'm using dial-up and that's some 5-6 hours of downloading... Thanks

Didn't you save the patch when you installed it before?

Save the patch?? How? I just run the updater, hit 'update' and wait...
btw, there is a folder called 'patch' in the game directory but it is empty

Unofrtunatly there is no way to save the patch if it has been installed by the Auto Updater. When you reinstall you will be installing the build that is on your disk (could be 1.59 or something like that)
Then you will need to run the updater to get the patch again. You can download the patch manually ( thats what I do) You can manually download the patch from here Hope this helps

Try the following.
1) Defrag Your HDD 2) Update your Video Drivers 3) Set Your NWN cache to a fixed amount of memory. Add this line to your NWNplayer.ini file under [Game Options] Max Memory Usage=30 This allows you to set the amount of available memory (in Megs) that the game will use for caching resources in memory. Adding more memory for the cache may improve performance up to a point, after which increasing the cache size any more most likely wont do much. Your mileage may vary. Hope this helps.

Try rolling back to your old drivers and see how that goes.
