While browsing the archives yesterday, I discovered that the bunnies have a long and varied history here at IW. While there was no 'proto-bunny thread', or even a bunny smiley, the little critters burrowed their way up into many a thread. So perhaps:

"Deep in the mists of time, there was a rabbit warren. And the bunnies lived happily, chomping their carrots contentedly. Then along came Ziroc. And he had plans. And a theodolite. And the town of Ironworks was thus created in the field of bunnies. The bunnies were still content, for the carrots were still plentiful, and the sun still shone on the field next to the first buildings of Ironworks. Every once in a while, a bunny would lose its way, and burrow up into one of the buildings, but generally the bunnies stayed out of harm's way. But Ironworks grew. The population swelled. The buildings grew greater in number, more diverse styles, more decorative. And the bunnies soon found that they couldn't help but burrow into the buildings. And some of their number were lost forever. The bunny leaders planned and plotted, was peaceful co-existence possible, they wondered? And still the Ironworks grew. There was less bunny field, and more Ironworks. So the bunnies decided on a deliberate policy of infiltration and sabotage. They soon found they had allies amongst some of the fluffy-loving IW citizens. And the first battle began...."
