I already owned a Sound-blaster Live Audigy and today, I went out and bought the Creative Labs' Soundblaster Speakers. There are five mini speakers and one Sub-woofer. I have them up and running, though the orange wire has no home, apparently. The instructions showed that it was left off of some models of Sound Card. I have four ports. The orange line is for a five port sound card.
I ran a test and proved that each of the five speakers are operational. Yet my problem is when I am playing music. Only the front three speakers are sounding. The two rear satellites are on but not playing. How can I get the music to channel through all five speakers??? Are they supposed to??? |

Hardware isnt my speciality, but I do know of one thing that *might* help...
Unplug the speakers, and plug them back in, into different places (eg if speaker a went in hole 1 put speaker b in hole 1, and speaker a in hole 2)... try to play the music again... More then likely, you will notice again that 2 speakers dont play... if it is the same two speakers, its most likely a problem with them, if its the same 2 holes, have a technician check your comp... if its two different speakers, AND two different holes, then something wierds going on |

it depends. from my experience it is based on the type of music or sound wave it is playing... how is it when playing a game? have you tried playing orchestra music in it?

I have the hardware plugged up right, and all speakers are checked and operational. I went in to the configuration and told the software to play surround sound. But, it didn't. I think I am missing a step in the software configuration. That is what I am asking.
The soundlaster comes with so many option to configure, I may never find the right page to turn all four speakers on dering MP3 play mode. Any suggestions? |

I did it! I had the preset on Surround Digital, and I was supposed to have it on Stereo 4-speaker set-up!!! Wow! I am ready for Dungeon Siege now!!! I have the two satellite speakers hagong off the walls to my left and right, and have the balance set where they get a bit more juice than the front 3. That gives a cool feel of submersion!
