I have 2 wizards with Create Portal,vanish, teleport and Call Home but cannot make the Portals work. Do you still use the control key to cast it and where do you point it. I tried it near the Dragon Spire and it still doesn't work. I want to get back to Ishad N'ha without going through the Dragonspire. I noted that you need the Will points up so could be the reason. Help please.

Always check the text box after castin create portal! If it doesn´t say "Portal Created" try again. And yes you use ctrl to cast it. Luckily you don´t need teleport to get to Ishad N´ha. Stand by the trees facing Torin on the Brimloch side. Save your game and cast vanish. That should out you on the IShad N´ha side. If it puts you completely wrong, like in the middle of some trees with no way out, reload.

Will and Sorcery stats both effect magic skills.

When you cast these spells...Hold down the control key and click on one of your characters. (you should see a blue targeting cursor, when you mouse over your character) Try some practice runs to test your skill and the portal...cast 'Create'....Walk afew yards (Or meters)..cast 'Teleport'...and Like Willow said

The best place to set that Portal, is on the rock ledge ramp that exits Dragon Spire. Between the exit and the trees. If you jump down from that spot..(don't land on Torin)...you can walk to Ishad N'ha. When you teleport back, you walk down the ramp to Brimlock Roon.

Vanish will work but, I think it's a 1 time deal. I don't think you can use it to get back to the top of the ledge.

To operate those spells just cast them on one of your charactors with the ctrl key. Remember that call of home doesn't work inside dungeons. I keep a portal at the Brimoch gate to make it easy to return from Ishad N'ha. To get back to Ishad N'ha just climb the Dragonspire ramp and jump off when you reach the top, you come out near Torin.

Thanks Kev and Willow for the info. I created a Portal near Is'had n'ha gates and couldn't get back, thank heavens I hadn't saved it. Will experiment further with your suggestions!

From your "conch shells" post I know your going to the sunken city. I created a portal in there but teleport & vanish don't seem to work in there. At the moment I am stuck in an area with a mermaid in the exit tunnel. It is just like the toadum villager thing. I don't want to kill the mermaid to get out so I am combing every inch of the place to find another exit. If anyone knows a way out let me know.

'Vanish', 'Create Portal' and 'Teleport' spells Do work in the cooollasium. I use them all the time.

IIRC...The only spot in the collasium that you can not set a portal....is in the rotating room.
(I do remember being stuck in the floor in there once, but I don't remember how I got there.)

I created a portal in there no problems, but teleport & vanish just fizzle I think it was because I was trying to do them under water. They worked in other parts of callasium without trouble.
Yes I did have to kill the mermaid, but no repercussions:cool:.

Teleport always worked for me in Collasium - even under water. I haven't needed to cast Vanish there so that I don't know. Where in Collasium did the spell fizzle? And under which conditions? For example, all spells usually fizzle if you are getting "crushing damage" from some damned device (a door that cannot close or open because of you and so on).

I just went to Volberdings walkthrough site. He calls the area the first crab room. When you open the door past that room you enter another room that has a loop that goes through a room where you find a chest on top of a beam near the ceiling. I was stuck in there with a mermaid in the entry tunnel. I tried vanish & teleport several times but they fizzled. In another area laater they worked in an air pocket.
