I found out, the hard way, that only 1 char can become a bard. (Thank goodness for frequent saves

Is it the same for the ninja and samurai quests? i.e. can only one char become a samurai/ninja or can multiple chars become them?

thanks in advance

Not true, Eddie-C. More than one character can become a bard. There may be an issue with multiple characters at the same time, but if another character gets the bard quest, the scroll of trickery will reappear.

Same goes for the Samurai quest. For the Ninja quest, you need to have been present once. Everyone else can then switch to Ninja immediately, IIRC. I've actually opened the drawbridge before getting the quest, walked in, got the quest, and got credit for it.

Ah ok. I put them all on the bard quest at the same time - like the town hall & ma/pr guild quests which split it all.

Having just toasted elyssia i could run back there i guess - shurugeon castle should be plenty of xp to level my chars, plus i have it on frequent spawn & hard difficulty so always plenty of mobs. (just wish there were more amazoni mantraps

You actually enjoyed the Sepent temple? All those priests running around throwing poison at you, and never missing. The XP from the temple is impressive though. Perhaps even more so than from a certain castle.

1. If you want more bards then take take role changings one by one: first adept of a bard, finish, next adept of a bard (next scroll is spawned), finish, next adept of a bard (next scroll is spawned) ...

2. The Ninja quest is, in fact, buggy You can (mis)use the bug the following way:
a) Go to the Shurugeon Castle and lower the bridge. You need not hide from the spirits. Kill them when they come into your way. Return to the town.
b) Take the Ninja quest and go to Bushi Dojo for the promotion immediately. Take the Ninja quest and go to Bushi Dojo for the promotion immediately...
Where's the bug? When you want the promotion, the game checks whether the bridge is lowered and whether the spirits are content - but the game does not check WHEN the bridge was lowered. Now, the bridge was already down when you took the quest. You went to Bushi Dojo without visiting the Castle at all, thus, no spirits were disturbed. Summary: The bridge is down and the spirit are content. You are a Ninja
Note: The game never elevates the bridge. Especially, the game does not elevate the brigde when you take the quest.

3. The Samurai quest. The same as the Bard quest. Replace "scroll" by the "spirit of a samurai".

Willow, yeah, i loved serpent temple - except the last part with those elevators.

I found it really easy with the following technique:
1) Have spirit eye always in use on the priest, that way you can click
the map to see where things are. (only disadvantage is it shows rats/roachs)
2) I have a gourka as lead of my group so he senses mobs around, then I
use the priest as above
3) My two wizards have either lightning/elemental blast/incinerate always ready.
That way, as soon as you see them they are toast.
(also when soloing with a caster, just have any of those spells ready)

i did it the long way:-
whenever i took a lift, i labelled it as "A". when i entered a different area when i took "A", i labelled it as "B", and so on and so on.
quite tedious i should say, but easy navigation once all the labelling is done!

I found the Serpent Temple to be quite easy navigating. By completing the lower levels first. Then the middle level together with those parts of the lower level that are only accessible through the middle level. And last the top level together with the parts of the middle and lower levels that are only accessible through the top level.

First time I just wander in S.Temple's basement...
Only 20 minutes and I found my way to out.

Then I tried to search some things I have missed and get lost for over an hour!
( same thing was, when I tried to find one leveler... )

I had once 4 character that all wanted to became Bard.
I casted Create Teleport outside S.Temple, got scroll, cast Call to Home, awarded as a Bard, get outside, cast Teleport, get scroll....

Not so hard and saves lot of time than when you walk...

[LOOK MY POST NUMBER!!!! 4 is my badluck number! Ouch!]
