The crowd gives them legs. Never underestimate the power of human encouragement. Now multiply that by 10 kazillion or whatever the stand holds.

That is what they have been saying and it seems to fit Portugal Italy and US all had them score their goal in the last 15. They also did that in a friendly with us

that's okay - if they try chatting girls up with that hair-do they'll get to duplicate Michael Owen's injury too

They had a clip on the news over here reg. all the kids wanting their hair to look like Beckhams and that I can sorta understand but this one kid (woulda been about 9 or 10yrs old) had a dome shaved out of his hair to look like the balding english coach - Imagine a Harry Potter lookalike (glasses incl) with a balding head. - certainly made me laugh

Everybody wants to watch World Cup football

Tony Blair has tired to get some meeting at the EU-summit posponed tomorrow because England plays Brazil at 08:30 CET

- but he failed because Gerhard Schröder wants to watch Germany - USA at 13:30 CET

LATEST: The opening of the summit have been posponed - officially because of today's general strike in Spain. So now the politicians can watch England - Brazil
