Hello again, dpwst6...

There are a number of piles, in this area. I don't think the location of the dragon ore is random...and IIRC...it was in a pile.....in a shaded area, on the floor of the cave. I do remember...I had walked over it several times...before I found it...LOL
I also remember...only one pile....contains 'Dragon Ore'. Take another look...and let us know.

*note.... ...it might help if you adjust the gama setting...while in the cave.

There are two pieces of dragon ore there. Their location is not random. Both pieces are on the ground. Catch your pick axe and continue trying. You will be successful in the end

Actually, I think the truth is somewhere in-between...

There is definitely one fixed piece of dragon ore. That's down where the mama fire hound is keeping the nest warm.

The second piece, I believe, is random. I have played games where I only got one, and games where I got two. I think it may be limited to a few locations (IOW, you won't find it in the first pile on the first level), but I think it is not guaranteed to be found.

If you can't find it, just keep going deeper into the mines. It's out there... somewhere....

Much easier than adjust gamme is cast Reveal (sun spell) or etc..
They lighten area quite good. And if you have Whiskas (spelling, that cat raze)
among your party, let him/her to do seaching in every place. They have that so called Night Vision trait..

I'd remember, that I found my dragon or from wall, not from floor...

I've always been able to find two pieces of silver oree. One is where you meet the fire hound and there are five deposits around. The second piece is over by the cave next to the broken cart.

My last game only had one piece of ore even though I knew where to find them.
Do you know about using the pick, dpwst6? You can only pick up ore from the pile if you have a pick to mine it.

Shame about your dragon armour Olli. How did you get into the Dragonspire without it?
