I have Edwin and I have kept Aerie and the combo works well for me as a team. And no, I don't have a romance with Aerie. Maybe it's just easier for me to accept her emotional outbursts after years of conditioning with my children.

well i dumped aeire as soon as i could, which was after i got edwin. her spells just sucked and my main character was a cleric so i had no need of her. i also get rid of yoshimo for jan cos that guy really got on my nerves. anyway so far my party consists of:

kaegan - cleric
keldorn
minsc
korgan
jan
ediwn

some people might say thats too many fighters. and they may be right. but it hasn't been bad at all. the dragons i've fought so far have been piss easy, compared to that damn liche in the docks anyway.

No, that's a pretty well thought out party. If you were going to exchange one of your fighters I'd get Jaheira. Great AC and iron skins make her a good tank, and she's the Lorena Bobbett of spell disrupting. I love insect plague.

I'm in Chapter 4 right now, and yes, Aerie seems a bit weak. But at this point in the game I wonder if switching to Edwin would be a good idea. There's a lot of levelling up he has missed out on. As for annoyances, Jaheira gets on my nerves, but she is too good to give up. At times I just turn the sound down and crank up the stereo. It's really fun to battle it out while listening to your favorite CD!
