see drizzt.

attack drizzt.

see drizzt attack.

see drizzt wipe floor with gnolls, summonded monsters (wand of monster summoning) and all party members, while seemingly impervious to missile weapons of any kind.

a little help?

well killing Drizzt is truly evil, and getting a +5 weapon in this game is almost unfair. You know that you will lose 10 reputation points for your party so if you have some items that you were thinking about bying you might want to get them before you do the deed. Now its funny that you mention missile weapons because that is the only way to kill him. I personally just pick pocket his +3 Scimitar and im happy with that, but if you must kill him: find a way to trap him on the little island just north of where he is killing the gnolls, there are several ways to do it. By the way if you are low level dont even bother trying to kill him, it will take forever and you will probably run out of arrows/bullets.

I don't think you get the +5 defender in BG1, just the +3.

kill drizzt and get the nifty +3 and +5 scimitars as well as his +4 mithril chain mail.if you have a high rep killing him will not be a problem.and then you can buy back a heroic rep at the nearest temple.

What I've heard you can also dismiss NPC's above, under and next to him. make sure they would be willing to rejoin you again because that will make sure they will stay where you leave them. After doing this, Drizzt won't be able to reach you when you attack him because the now blue circeled NPC's are blocking his way. Then you have all the time you need to finish him off with range attacks. Note: I haven't tried myself but a friend has and he told me it worked fine

I killed him by simply using a wand of monster summoning and equipping all my guys with missle weapons. It is deffinitly worth it if you have a good aligned character because the +5 defender lowers your armor class by 2 and you THAC0 by 3

There are in fact many ways to kill Drizzt, but sadly they all take advantage of the game's poor AI. The Skeleton/Monster-summoning way is the least cheesy, but even that's kinda dumb. ("I think I'd rather spend half an hour killing all these monsters, instead of the guy who's spawning all the monsters.")

Low-level parties have just as much chance to kill Drizzt as high-level parties, as their odds of rolling a Critical Hit are just the same. Speed things up by including a Bard.

if your thief has a low pick pocket level and tries to pick the +3 scimitar off Drizzt, does he turn hostile, and then our group is forced to run as though their arses were on fire? If so, what would be a safe level of pick pocketing before attempting such a feat?

Well you can try it at any time cause there's always a bit of luck involved. But having a high pick pockets skill certainly improves the odds. Anyway you can always hit the quickload option if Drizzt gets mad
