mmm
so as i was searching for more info on those movies that those nice people posted as being involved with alcohol, i found that i collected quite a few more evil trojans, virus's, spywares, adwares etc etc.

I think ive just about had enough of ebil software hijacking my computers resources. sure i can remove them with the various softwares and manually, but its getting really old having to spend an hour every other day disinfecting my computer. Does anyone know of a way to 'immunize' me to software that installs itself without my permission?

Run a non-M$ OS. They are vulnerable in their own ways, but almost all malwares are targeted at Windows.

A good AV package should pick up viruses on the way in and prevent them getting installed.

A good firewall will help as well, some malwares try to download from the internet and a firewall will stop that.

SpybotSD has some immunisation options that prevent various types of malware getting in.

Yeah I really enjoy surfing the internet on my ibook running OSX and thumbing my nose at all the viruses and stuff taking advantage of Microsoft systems. But then also, I'm fairly careful about what I open, and everyone needs to practise that.

Don't use Internet Explorer would be my advice. I only use the damn thing for windows updates and microsoft passport sites and somehow its still managed to magically install some extra toolbars i didn't want, along with all the usual redirecting and pop-up adware nonsense.

I run Spybot, AdAware, ZoneAlarm, and Popup Killer for protection. Spybot immunizes, AdAware cleans, ZA protects, and PK kills.

I have Norton Internet security 2k3, and it's working fine for now.I'm trying to get my hands on my friend's agressive defense system, and active set of programs i had installed on my old comp before my hard burned out.
