As soon as Larry had asked the question, Isabeau came flapping in, to land on his shoulder. She was particularly high-strung about something, and so Larry begins to apologize for the interuption that has been caused to his new, mysterious friend's tale.

Pesonal passion? Hah! Would that I could even feel passion, perhaps... but no. I adventure out of profession. I am a mercenary, I take any job that I can and execute it with ruthless effeciency. If it requires a quota of some sort, I will do anything that I possibly can to fulfill that. Now, however, I am between jobs. That double-crossing Drow nearly got me killed, and I've been resting here... but I think that I'm fully healed now. I'm very anxious to get back to the road, and would gladly accompany anybody or take any job, as long as I can get out of this damned city.
Sephi relaxed, picked his sword up off of the table, and resheathed it. |

Turning his attention back to the man to hear out his case...Larry was attacked by Isabeau as she began pecking at him. Looking around at her, he finally noticed the letter she wore on her leg. Reading it aloud, he read:
Larry, Forget all that has happened to us after our encounter in Spree's palace. We shall always be good friends, but you no longer bear the burden of protecting Kaz; you have done more than enough for her. Larry's hands began to tremble...looking back at the stranger, since Spree and Deiter were on the other end of the bar, Larry began to nervously ask... "B---but what could she mean by this? SHe has said two different things...#1 is to forget about our relationship and that she only wants to be friends...and #2 is that I am relenquished of my duty to Kaz...wh--what is happening? Larry could feel the room start to spin, and every noise in the tavern seemed amplified to pain at his ears... |

Sephi, startled by the stranger's sudden disorientation, tried to steady him with his toned left arm. Hey, are you okay there? Do you need some help?

Larry looks at his new friend in the eyes and says... "Sir, when I was younger, I fought because my dad expected of me, and I made him proud. He was taken from me by the sting of death, and I have replaced his hold on my heart for another. She was the only reason I even breathe...and now...I have lost her as well...and I do not understand why...I ... Instead of tears this time, Larry could feel a small flame beginning enlarge. He could feel that rage was about to overtake him, yet he stood there, just shaking from the intense pain that had been dealt to his heart... Through gritted teeth, he relpies. "Why am I destined to wander the land alone, and lost? Why can I not have someone at my side to love and protect?" His voice was getting louder, and some people began to look on, wondering what this fool drunkard was going to do next. Isabeau saw the moment as a time to escape...and dutifully report her discoveries... |
