Re: MM7 Mod - my status
Congrats on the Gauntlet! It's fun getting through there, isn't it?
I'm hitting the vault again tonight. Bimbasto on CH gave me some suggestions that I'm about to try.... stay tuned...

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
How do you know which one has the cube though?
I guess that plan can work, but the allies don't die easily. I think the first time in I did loose some of them though. The second time, with another party they were all alive.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
One of them shows up as Jester's Folly when you mouse over him... the rest are dragons (of various colors) and hydras. He's the one you have to take out.
I'm impressed that your allies live so easily. Mine fall over like houses of sticks... up for a while, then done. What level are you when you go in there? I'm around 46... give or take a couple.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
I've only been in twice, but both times I'm sure I was way higher than that. First time I think i was 60's or something.
Can you portal to the pit? Mine never workers.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
That could be the difference, then. I was always a little eager...
I can portal into the Pit. I think you have to drink from the fountain in there in order to be able to portal back there. Have you done that?

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
Not this time, but I know I have before. I have to go back there soon. I'm getting my blessings!
Town portal still does not work, even though I drank from the well.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
Ok,
I did the Vault at level 59. I set juiced myself up with spells (of course) and set summon elemental as my ready spell. When I entered the area I immediately ran right and continued to run all the way around the to about 270 degrees to the other side. While doing that, I kept hitting the "S" key to summon the elementals. The room becomes completely surrounded by them. Then I lined myself up for some serious shooting. You can save, so if you hit an ally, just reload. When I had killed everything I talked to them and added them to my party. They were all in good health. They had taken damage, but were still in the green! I would be interested to try your save game if you still have one before entering the Vault. My party is Clerics turned Archers. They're pretty darn good!

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
I do have a save game from before entering the Vault... shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.
Interesting technique. I hadn't thought about summoning elementals... that probably would have made the Jester Spawn in the previous part of the vault a lot easier... Off to finish Colony Zod tonight. Hasted blaster rifles should be really, really nice on all those Titans. Heck, maybe I'll even go clean out the Titan Fortress too... just snuck in for the Perfect Bow earlier.

Re: MM7 Mod - my status
I have but one regret... that only the sorcerer knew Armageddon Had the cleric also known it, Eeofol would have been that much easier... Even with Hasted Blaster Rifles, there were a lot of dragons, titans, and demons... occasionally too many. Took care of it, though... and came across something really, really interesting... a Dragon's Eye Cascade!
You may recall that there was a graphics glitch in one of the MMs where if a critter died on a hill, it couldn't fall, and therefore couldn't die, so it came back to life... to die again, and come back to life again... and so on. Well, tonight as I was wiping out the dragons near the dragon cave in Eeofol, I got to one batch where this one dragon wouldn't die... and it looked like there were rocks or something shooting up. There's also a blue streak on the map... and sure enough, those rocks are actually dragon eyes! Must be a thousand of 'em... and no, I don't exaggerate here. I saved the game after the cascade stopped, but I'll grab a screen cap of it... somehow... Xenofex is next after all these dragons, and then the end game. More on that in another day or so. BTW, the Titan Fortress was a piece of cake...
