In the De'Arnise Hold, where are the bones in the room with the umber hulks?

There are 2 doors to the south of the hulks. Enter the first one, walk to the end of the passageway and go in the last room on your right. Take a look there.

I know that spot is the place you put the dog meat stew (ewww...) but - forgive me if this is a stupid question - what are those dog bones used for? Or are they just there?

The deal, I think, is this. That servant guy at the secret entrance told you that nothing keeps the hulks from their food. I think the dog bones are placed there to indicate to you that this is where they are used to eating. Begs the question though, why do you have to turn into Betty Crocker and prepare them a nice puppy dog stew when apparently they are just as content to eat right from the bone?
