Has anyone installed this mod? It is suppose to make the start more interesting. I may give it a try sometime but it would be good to know if anyone has played it or if it has created any problems.

As a wild guess, does this mod simply replace all of the goblins with undead???

Don't know but I was hoping it would have added undead with the goblins.

If you follow the link in the first message, you'll get all the details on the mod.
No, I haven't installed it myself, as IWD2 is currently off my drive. However, it does sound like a good challenge for those who are bored with the regular game at the start. |

I have the above said mod...its quite challenging.....it took about five tries to get past the palisade battle. You are right in guessing that the easy to kill goblins are replaced with skeletons that take a bit more damage....it puts a good spin on the story line...I highly recommend it.

Strange that more people haven't talked about this.
I downloaded it a few weeks ago to try and spice up the opening chapter, and it was certainly... a challenge. Not only are there bigger, badder and nastier foes, but a nice touch is that to balance that, the people of Targos do try to help you out. Beforehand I've always felt a bit hard-done-by by the Targos folk - the feeling's always been there that they'll hope you win, but they won't lift a finger to give you any real assistance. This mod made me feel a lot better about them. The items don't win the war by themselves, though... they just buy you time. As it should be. There's a certain sense of desperation, too. The battles are fairly intense, and in places almost overwhelming. You have to work hard, which is only fitting. Let's face it, Ulbrec and his wife could have beaten the 'Goblin Hordes' in the original game single-handed. I felt, after this, that I really HAD saved a town - and that my characters really were heroes. It also allows you to skip some of the longer conversations with some rather amusing new dialogue lines, and lets you do some of the fedex quests early to save time. Very welcome, that. A smaller add-on is to beef up Torak, the somewhat pathetic orcish chieftain you steamroller in Chapter One... but if you've bested Undead Targos anyway, you're likely to eat the unmodded Torak for breakfast anyhow. So, to anyone starting a new game with a new party, test your skills and bag loads more experience than ever before with the Undead Targos Mod(TM)

Just to make sure: Is this mod doable with a first level party?

Well, I did it with a first level party. Mind you, they weren't first level for long... there's a lot more XP on offer this time round, it's just that you have to fight for it. The really difficult bit is definitely the beginning, for your enemy is as much lack of quality equipment because only Guthewulfe will sell you anything while the Docks are under siege.
