that's WHY we need population control, be it from a judicial or educational point of view!

You think just population control will help?

One thing I can tell you folks -- any generalisations you care to make will be simplistic in the extreme when applied to a country with more than 1 billion people, an area the size of all Europe and more than 5,000 years of history. Fujian can be more different from Beijing than France from Germany. And the experiences of one dynasty can be very different from those of another.

As for hating it... Ah, well, guess you can't please everyone under the sun.

But before you jump to simplistic conclusions about China... look, go do some serious reading. I'm sure you've all got something called a library card, right?
Don't be so presumptuous, K T. Of course, generalizations are just that--general. As far as reading up on it, I'm doing a lot of research for the web page I'm working on. I've had a lot of call from visitors wanting to know about Eastern magical systems, especially as related to the Chinese systems of magic. To be able to understand those, it's important to understand the culture. I don't think anyone here "hates" China, any more than they "hate" any other place or thing. Of course, several people here may hate themselves, but that's a personal problem.

Assuming population control will help -- which I'm honestly not too sure about -- why do people in the West keep on knocking China for her population control measures? Do they prefer to see China's population balloon all the way until the whole thing bursts?

To Sazerac:

I actually haven't got the impression at all that any people around here 'hate' China. I'm just 'playing along' with everyone, so to speak.

Will be looking forward to your webpage on Asian magicks. What will the whole thing be based on -- AD&D 3rd Edition?

Aaaak! Hardly. This isn't a gaming page. I'm researching esoteric systems throughout China's history. Feng Shui, Ley Lines, I Ching, Taoist philosophies and magical working, martial arts and chi force, and their relationship to the basic chinese philosophies and spiritual thought. Nope, this is fairly serious stuff.

My mistake this time! I thought it was for gaming purposes!

Thought this might interest you, Sazerac. You might like to look at it.
