I'd like to see Spain finally do something in this World Cup (since OZ didn't make it and I can claim 1/4 Spanish blood from my father ) but what a joke that penalty was. The Slovakian defender didn't even see where Morientes was, Morientes just tripped over him. 3-1 is a bit flattering to the Spanish, but I'm sure they'll take it.

So who's impressed and who hasn't thus far? If these teams were stocks, what would your research analyst tell you?

Buy

1. Germany. Sure the opposition was pathetic, but they still had to score the goals and the win will give them a lot of confidence.
2. Argentina. If not for Nigerian keeper Shorunmu the Argentines would have won by at least 5 goals, such was their dominance.

Sell

1. Saudi Arabia. Got hammered 8-zip. Say no more.
2. Slovenia. May find this mountain too hard to climb, esp. with a 3-1 scoreline working against their differential.
3. Nigeria. I'm predicting that they will be the doormats of the Group of Death - didn't get a look in today and I think England and Sweden will both be too strong for them.

Hold

1. England. Can Becks regain his fitness in time?
2. Sweden. Can Ljungberg regain his form, and how soon can Patrik Andersson be back? Shows some promising touches in attack.
3. Denmark. Wait and see.
4. Uruguay. Wait and see.
5. France. Don't give up on them yet - class tends to shine through in tough situations.
6. Senegal. I don't imagine they'd be able to use the "USA" tactic against Uruguay, who enjoy attacking the flanks, or Denmark who will have taken note. Wait and see.
7. Ireland. Can their spirit get them through?
8. Cameroon. Disappointing, but let's see how their next game goes.
9. Spain. They looked anything but convincing in their victory.

There you have it keep in mind that it's only been two days - I may end up having to eat my words yet.

What England need is more players from the English champions Arsenal. Get more Gunners in there!! Oh, sorry - they all play for other countries don't they.

I am disappointed in you Memnoch, that is flame baiting pure and simple - I should report you to a moderator .

despite spain's victory over slovenie they once again didn't convince me. So many good players and yet they play without heart, exactly the reason they're knocked out of every tournament so soon.
