This sounds rather weird. What kind of system do you have? If your OS is Windows XP, have you tried the compatibility modes?

I know this happens if you enable compatibility mode in Windows and then start the game without rebooting the computer. It happened to me. I kinda liked it since I didn' have to listen to all the rants. Unfortunately it doesn't affect the shop keepers.

Try rebooting your computer and then start the game once more.

And you're complaining about this? Man, are there places where I'd love to have certain NPCs taking speed like that...

I'd be much happier had it affected a certain magician.

Hunh? Now you've gone and confused me. I was thinking of a particular windbag in blue robes, found in the town of Brimloch Roon. Who, pray tell, is the object of *your* disaffection?

You know I'm a little confused myself. However, in my second post I was talking about Kol. I have no idea why I posted "magician" though. It should've said heretic. The dialogue between im and a certain scaled creature was unfortunaely not affected by this bug in my game.
