OR....if all you really need is to get past it to get some goodies, have a Cleric cast Sanctuary on herself and stroll past it to collect the goods! You don't get the points for the kill, but if your weapons are not up to it, this works well!

Yes you can, but you get alot of exp for killing them. What you really should do is to go to the slum and by sling of everard +5 (?) (bonus CD). Then you will have one person that can hit everything.
