Hi, Bahumet and Jerome!

Thanks guys, for the sneak pre-view I got of most of these poems. I really and seriously feel privileged.

I have also already told you guys what I think of them. But to reiterate, I enjoy the poetry the both of you write very much. Technique can be learned, but depth of feeling and allowing others insights into your souls cannot be learned. That must come from within.

Ryan, thanks for starting this again. I can't wait to read your next ones. And sneak pre-views are always appreciated.

*HUGS* Guys!

Both of you show a lot of talent...let me know when you publish!

Finally finally finally. That is all I can say as of the moment. Finally, you've come to your senses. I know I was prety harsh with you back there, but you have to understand that I think highly of the talent you have. Not worth keeping from other people, especially when others would kill to have it too. Keep on writing Ryan, you're good at it. Believe me.

Here's my own contribution. I warn you, it's sad.

ANDREW

My son…
I hope you don’t mind if I start rambling again

Emily came by today
Ah… sweet Emily…
We looked at your photo album and laughed together
But her smile didn’t quite reach her eyes

“Come on baby, you can do it!”
“Ma… ma…”
“Oh baby! You did it!”

The six year old boy down the street
I can’t seem to remember his name
He doesn’t ride his bike around anymore
He says only Andy can fix his bike

“Mom, I’ve enlisted in the army.”
I willed for the tears to stop
And I turned my face away.

Every night, I light a candle
And think of the day that’s just ended
I close my eyes and wish to hear your voice
But not a sound ever comes

“I’m sorry Ma’am… he got hit…”
“I’m sorry…”
Not Andy… not my son…

A year’s gone by
Everyone misses you terribly

The six year old boy down the street

Emily

Me

“Mommy, good night kiss?”

Good night Andy.

Mommy loves you.

Another one:

JOURNEY TO THE UNKNOWN

Vast empty expanse
Of white linoleum
Faces us as we journey to the unknown.
Always forward
Never right nor left.
They come towards us
From the opposite direction.
Their leader pauses
To kiss the head of our line.
A kiss bearing top-secret information
“Another barricade of poisonous powder.
One of our men died just stepping on it.”
The wind carries the words to all of us,
Yet we move forward
Always forward.
But what is to the left and right?
More white,
More emptiness,
Made more alluring by its difference in direction.
I turn and march to the right.
“Hey, where are you going?”
I don’t know either.
But won’t it be fun to find out?
I zigzag left and right,
Weaving through the ghosts in my head.
Oblivious to the flesh monument falling from the sky,
I never saw it coming.
The vast white expanse stretches towards me.
White…
“Oh God.”
Gray…
“I knew him when…”
Black.

I wonder if you guys got what that was about...
