Does anybode know the minimum requirements of NWN2?

One word of caution: You WILL want your video card to be as close to the top of the supported card list as possible. NWN2 is very unforgiving on low end system!

If you aren't above the recommended system with a high end video card, you might think about giving the game a pass. If you fall below the minimum system specs - DEFINITELY give the game a pass. You will be frustrated beyond belief.

If you're unsure whether your system will be able to handle NWN2 or not, test your hardware at the System Requirements Lab and see if you meet the requirements they test for.

Recommended:
3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
1 GB System RAM
ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, 256 MB, or more, video card

Minimum System Requirements:
Windows XP (Windows 2000 added by Obsidian. Atari doesn't "know that", through now)
512MB System RAM
2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor

Go to the Bioware NWN2 forums (yeah I know its an Obsidian game) and peruse the posts on system specs and problems and compare your system with what other users are encountering.

FWIW, the game runs just fine on my system - in fact it runs great. I've got a 3.2 P4, 1 gig ram, and an nVideo 7800 GT. No issues at all with lag and I've had to do very little video setting tweaking.

That card isn't even on the supported list, and its pretty old and dated. The game MIGHT run but at the very least you will have really slow frame rates and will have to turn your video and game settings WAY down - if it works at all. Sorry, wish I had better news but IMO I think you're definitely going to need a video card upgrade before you can play NWN2. I would aim for at LEAST a nVidia 7800 GT if not a 7900.

This was originally from Obsidian, found at Bioware's NWN-2 Forum (I had to add a couple of cards that they skipped right over, and I reordered them to suit NWN-2, at least, IMO on shader 2.0 speed), sorting order "in flux", still, and I've removed the several cards that the Prerelease Toolset named as no longer supported (although they failed to remove the Nforce6100 and FX 5500 for some reason).

From that list, you can see that your FX 5200 has fallen off the bottom of the supported list and would have been very slow anyway. Go for a system with a video card in the upper list and you'll be fine. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Maybe a ram upgrade but that's not essential. How about Hard drive size and Operating system (XP Pro with SP2?)?

Hard drive is WAY big enough. lol Only reason I ask is that some of the patches take up to 7 gigs of temp hard drive space.

Not sure if not having SP2 will be an issue or not.

Oh yeah, one last question - DVD-Rom or CD player? Just so you know, there are some issues with secureRom on this game. I haven't had ANY problems but a fair number of people have.
