Well yes I was exaggerating a little bit but I had just gotten out of college, first time I was out of my parents house, was my first time on my own and basicly I was too stubborn to admit I probably needed help.

Really? Wow, that's willpower! When I first moved out I used to ask Mum and Dad if I could borrow money for phone and power bills, then go and spend it on whiskey and cigarettes. They never found out though, luckily. I can still call on them if I'm strapped for cash The secret is to use puppy-dog eyes. No good parent will let their babies starve (or go without intoxicants ).

That reminds me of my university days...

I scrimped and starved
I paid my dues
Cold lonely nights
Kraft dinner blues
My every cent went for tuition fees
I only bought the bare necessities
sex, drugs and down-hill skis

No, see, I can CONVEY puppy-dog eyes over the phone merely through the power of my uncannily soothing, beautiful voice. I'm THAT good man.

My worst was doing grad school and working 70 hours a week in a convenience store (10 hour days every single day). I then left that job for a part time job (I had plenty of cash, because I had no time to spend it; however, I was WAY behind on school). After a few months (i.e. time to catch up in school), picked up a full-time job and still kept the part-time job (8 hour days every single day). Stayed that way for another year or so, before I finally just quit the part-time job (I pretty much had no life).

Ya, that's where I am right now. First time completely on my own, determined to survive WITHOUT running to mommy and daddy for checks. I probably should, but when all I ever hear from them is how broke they are, how much of a burden it is that I'm in Calgary and not Edmonton, and how they're going to retire soon so they won't have any money to give me or my 6 older siblings. Ya, like I'm really going to want to ask them for money now. Parents out there, please don't do that to your kids, please avoid the guilt trips if you can.

and to clarify from my orignal post, I'm not in school right this moment (summer break) but do work during school. I hate feeling useless.

I warned her yesterday that she's going to go insane in about a month's time, but she figures she needs them all.

we're both full-time university students, hence the need for money. but I just thought it crazy for her to work 3 jobs, then I got to thinking "well somebody else musta been in the same position". so how many jobs have you guys had at a single time?
Wow, lucky you for both having more then one job...but I don't even have at least ONE job....not even a part time one to get a little money to save up for a car (I still attend High school).
