From what I've read about it so far.. no imported char from BG or IWD etc. I assume it is stand alone, and since the requirements don't say you need IWD or HoW.... but I have not actually seen the statement.
Hope not,IWD, ToLM, HoW & IWD II would take up far TOO MUCH SPACE!

Yes, IWD II will be stand-alone. No imported chars allowed as the character generation system for IWD II will be completely changed. No more rolling dice for hours for that perfect over-powered character.

BTW, if you want to find out everything there is to know about IWD II, check out the official forum.

In that case, I'll just export my character and use my trusty ol' hex-editor.

Rolper,

BIS has been pretty good about hitting their target release dates, but not perfect. Wouldn't surprise me to see IWD2 slip a week or two. That lag may be due more to production delays than design delays.

As for imports and character generation, my understanding is that NO importing of characters from any other game will be allowed. Character generation will be with a "point buy" system where characters start with baseline stats (all 8's i believe except for racial modifications) and then have a fixed number of points to buy additional stat points. Also, since this mirrors the 3rd Ed AD&D rules, characters should also get additional stat points as they gain experience.
