Well to recap the first session (for those of you familiar with my mage in many posts below) I got to a city, went to an inn, and when going into the kitchen of it, almost got knocked out by a female dwarf with a broom. Well me and various others (pc's me, a psion, bard (chaotic nuetral - acts chaotic evil) and rogue, paladin joins up) are drafted along into an army to fight a band of Ravagers. Theres news of a Drow embassy and a Drow army fights along side us. 2 groups (the one mine is in and one with drow and a female elven psion,) go along, are ambushed in the night, a wood elf gets killed, and my elven mage can't shoot anything with his bow. afterwards we hit their party, free slaves, we were supposed to disrupt a ring, a large ring with horns and wings which is a portal. They teleport it away, and those of us alive, escape, being chased by succubus. We get back, get some money, the king meets us, and tells us we are to be dispatched.

IMHO you really should thoroughly read your Players Guide. Although Elves are good with a bow (and receive a bonus on attack rolls with it), your a mage, combat is not your specialty and your attack rolls are a lot less compared to a fighter of an equivalent level. It seems as if you've been going blind throughout your campaign. These things are basic mechanics. Try rereading the players guide.

Elven RANGERS are good with bows, but an elven MAGE? You need to stick to magic like a good elf mage

Rangers got the shaft in 3E, a Elven Fighter would easily beat an Elven Ranger with a bow.
