Mexican Holiday celebrating a big victory in the Revolution.

It's popular in the US 'cause of all of us beaners that live here
AND
It's a good reason to eat Mex food and drink margaritas

In Austin, I know several places that are doing $0.50 'ritas tonight
*slurp*

Did someone say "Margarita's"??? Oooooo... I think Cinco de Mayo just became my favorite holiday!

It celebrates Mexicos biggest victory in their revolution. Funny thing is its not a big holiday in Mexico. Barely one at all from what I'm told (by Mexicans). Its celebrated here to sell drinks at the bars. Nothing wrong with the drinking bit of course
