I have been playing D&D, computer and otherwise, for 15 years and that would be depressing. Yes I have been playing longer than some of you have been alive, and I am not ancient. There is such a core of players that pretty much play and D&D game that comes out. I admit I am one of those. This would be a sad day if it comes to pass.
Hopefully it will not and we can continue playing to our hearts content. |

Well from what I've read it's sad if Interplay looses it's rights to AD&D because I've becomed quite a fan of theire games. But If you look at the History of ad&d games it always changed licences, Mindscape (SSI) had the franchise they did great AD&D for the thecnology at that time (Theire AD&D Darksun game was great), If you get a chance to play it it's not a far jump to BG1. Then Other compagnies had theire turns Take2 Interactive with the Ravenloft fighting game (I love Ravenloft but Take2 made a sucky game), Then you have interplay Remember decent to undermountain not exactly triling and they also did a Warcarft clone where golems would be transformed in creatures by magic. So Maybe the new compagnie will make a few sucky AD&D games but who knows they might eventualy come up with a great game that rivals BG2 after all change is good else it becomes boring if your always the son of the lord of murder.

Just bookmark that link i gave you guys and check it every so often, it will update you with the latest news. The news isn't too good on other fronts too, like EA killing off Origin Systems (Ultima series) and a couple of other things. A lot of it's to do with front office fuckups across the industry which led to the collapse of tech stocks at the NASDAQ last year and this year. Apparently the focus is more on online CRPGs (not very many RPGs coming out this year) so better make sure your connections are quick, boys and girls...
