Well, Morrowind is unique in it's open-endedness and yet still single-playerness. There really aren't any games like that for the PS2 that I can think of at all. All the Square games (I assume you like Square games) are incredibly linear this system around, as well, which kind of sucks and isn't what you're looking for. If you want a time-waster where you don't even really need to progress the storyline at all, I suggest Disgaea. But then again, I'd suggest it if you were talking about the X-Box, and I'd try to convince you to get a PS2 just for the game. :grins:

StarOcean, ChronoCross, there may be more open ended PS2 games out there, but I don't know about them.

Err... Star Ocean 3 isn't out yet (and won't be until early next year), and Chrono Cross is a PS1 game.

Beoulve, StarOcean: Second Story is also PSone, but considering PS2 will play PSone games I do not differentiate the two in a PS2 topic. CronoCross, PS2 PSone, big deal. Still an awsome game.

Still. A Ps1 game is not a PS2 game. If we were suggesting PS1 games, I could go on forever. Also, I agree that SO2 was one of the best games ever, but Chrono Cross was boring. =|

And what's with the huge font? It kind of hurts my eyes.
