I'm in HEAVEN - I just watched the big match. Being in an Aussie Rules state, we didn't get it televised live - about an hour and a half delay so I had to stay away from all the news sources that could have spoilt it for me.
So, 6 points up and the hooter goes. The Lions have the ball (ULP), and then Gordon Bray screams OVERLAP - Davros screams NOOOOOOOOO, GET HIM SOMEONE!!! Fortunately all ends well for the Antipodean World Champions. Phew, I think I need a smoke after all that . So to all my British pals - DONUT, PSYCADELLIC BUTTERFLY, STARAFLUR - don't be shy lads, step forward and tell us all what you thought of the match . ------------------ [This message has been edited by Davros (edited 07-14-2001).] |

Just got back from Stadium Australia - 85,000 people!!!!! - and watched one of the most heartstopping rugby games I've ever seen, even more tense than the Wallabies-All Blacks game last year. And I have one thing to say:

Haven't seen him Memmie - but I expect he will give us the same line about "not usually posting on weekends because of his busy social life". I wonder how applicable that would have been if they had triumphed instaed of us .

Hey Davros, did you read this article by Lions wannabee Austin Healey (who failed to even take the field).
Not too bad for an ape, eh? ------------------ |

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.... Oh sorry just celebrating a great two days of Australian sport. We beat the Kiwis in the league, as if there's was ever any doubt that would happen, then we beat the Lions in the rugby. But in all fairness to our friends in the northern hemisphere the Lions played one hell of a good game but were just beaten by a better side on the day.

It was quite an outstanding game. The Lions would have beaten any other team in the world. Australia's composure in the last 15 minutes was just incredible. And we did it without Steve Larkham, too! I couldn't hear anything in the last 5 minutes.

Thanks for that Memmie - I have made comment before in the first thread about the contrasting sportsmanship of their impressive skipper Mr Johnston, and the highly insufferable prat Mr Austin Healey (after the ACT game). I have to wonder if he really said all that dribble - you would hope to be able to put it down to a press beat up, but with what he has shown us on the field, he really looks like an impressive little pile of putresence. He had the gall to berate Pat Rafter's sportsmanship - then again, I don't think he has the first clue what the word means, so he is probably talking out of context . Gee, don't you wish you could find what bar he is drowning his sorrows in right now - there are a few things we would probably want to say to him.
