I didnt fight my first giants via the cntrl j and explore area cheats
Also, when do i should do watchers keep?
Also, is this a stuuupid question or what, but are fire giants magic resistant?

you should do watchers keep whenever you want to, but i ended up doing it before i beat Draconis cuz i needed the experience (kept getting my ass wooped!). and basic Fire Giants arent Magic Resistant, but the Elites might be a little bit.

They cut through -13 armor class like a hot knife through butter though. Found that out the hard way

with stoneskin on my kensai mage and -2ac, the FG only did 4-5 dmg + fire dmg on him. Normal AC doesnt seem to lower the dmg

Enemy thac0's are so insanely high at that point that AC really doesn't make a huge difference... either you can take the damage or you can't.

That is why abilities like whirlwind and proper use of all those healing potions comes into play.
Something like stoneskin is infinately more effective in ToB than even the biggest armor. I found that special abilities like resistances and immunities were more important than actual AC.

Fire giant strategy... choke point, or get your invisible characters (spell or hide) to block their movement and pelt them with arrows. Stupid giants.
