There are no such thing as spoilers. Any newbies who read these posts are looking for spoilers. Everybody else already know what your talking about. The concept of spoilers was probably created by people who's sense of superiority would be destroyed if too many people know how to beat the game.
Or ... it is an insidious plot by the clue book companies trying to keep people from destroying their livelihood by giving out hints for free.

I'd have to disagree with you there, dude. A lot of people get on these boards to talk about general game issues, such as "What is the best party for whatever" or "Should I drop whoever from my group?". Other people might have specific game questions like "How do i get past so-and-so" or "Where is such-and-such". Contrary to your opinion, a lot of people who come here do NOT know about certain plot twists. Unmarked spoilers about these detract from these people's gaming experience.

Maybe you don't care about spoilers, that's your outlook, but the majority of people don't like finding out about a plot twist before they were meant to. You're entitled to your opinion but please respect the rights of others to not be spoiled with plot-critical information unless they specifically ask for it. If you do it accidentally, that's fine - people make mistakes. Learn for next time. If you do it deliberately like the person Melusine described above, you won't last long here.

Memnoch, absolutely right. I was looking through a thread once for some info about party composition, and was spoiled about a rather funny thing that happens to Edwin. Only minor, but it would have been much funnier if I had found out during the course of the game, and I was hopping mad.

"Enter here if you hate spoilers". So I, naive maybe but still, went in to read the thread, only to discover she'd given away the entire plotline, including Yoshi, Imoen and the story's ending in BIG CAPITALS!!
I didn't even know what flaming was then, but if I could get my hands on her NOW...

Are you serious? Why would someone do such a thing? How pathetic. Did it ruin your game?

I was spoiled re. Yoshi during my first game. I'd have to agree with Memnoch and disagree with Deverce. I was looking for a specific HINT to get me through an isolated problem, not to be spoiled about an unrelated plot development.

Yorick, yes I was spoiled by this *&#%@%&*)^%%^!
but I tried to 'avert mine eyes' as quick as possible and I tried to forget what she'd said. The ending was not really given away though, she said something like
MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER, ONLY READ THIS IF YOU HAVE FINISHED THE GAME!!!!

I prefer to find these things out in the game, myself...

I probably won't go to the IWD board till I finish the Heart of Winter first...

Once I understood what a spoiler was, I labled.... but my brains needed to kick into gear first!!
