some advice. Slap your DM in the face

Or if he does it again, punch him out

he's a complete butt. Killer GMs always are.

only times characters in my games have died is from player stupidity, though poor dice luck has almost claimed some

GM hints which got ignored (fatally):
"Are you SURE you want to charge into the Anti-Christ's domain on your own?"

Player stupidity:
"Why is everyone runnning past me at breakneck speed? what on Earth could be...."
"A beholder? oh what the hell - DIVE BOMBAS!!!!!" <--- this char got lucky and didn't die, though it ended up with the most embarassing death for a beholder *I've had 2 in my games* calledd the Death-defying Dwarf

Whatever the case, he doesn't sound as if he is treating ALL the players fairly, IMHO.

It may just be time to look for a new group if possible.
No, no, no! He IS treating me as fairly as all the others. I think he just likes to play it hard and difficult. Bah, always when i play AD&D, my char gets into the most unlucky situations . My first character rolled AMAZING stats(Not nearly as good as your 18, 18 and 17 on all others but great, still).. but then he died thanks to a small sample of a nasty Chimera`s breath.

If he REALLY wants to be fair, he should allow you to create a higher level character, with ordinary equipment.

OR, run a couple of "private adventures" for just your character to give you a chance to "catch up".

If you're happy with him, that's what really matters. Still, it couldn't hurt to ask.

At 4th level, you will still be "lower" than the ones who've managed to survive, so it isn't like the DM is ignoring thier work.

PLUS, I STILL have a problem with the way he allocates experience. I think you're being singled out, uss. It's VERY coincidental that YOU keep having such "bad luck".

Hmm, very well. Ill ask for exp or private adventures, the next time we play.
Thanks for the advice, Cerek .

hehehe i'm reminded of Tim E... we introduced him while we were all about level 8 and he had a devil of a time, finally we abandoned him and made him go off on his own, easier quest, allowing him to get up to level 3 at least.
