I just got the Mavin Sword from DragonSpire. I went back to Ishad Nah (or whatever) and when I got inside, I found the following bugs:

1. I could not leave town by either exit.
2. I could not enter the Dojo or the Temple.

For both of these, moving the mouse over the object failed to highlight it and the name failed to appear on screen.

3. Once, I entered the inn and exited the game. When I restarted the game, gathered my party and exited the inn, I got the cutscene from Gareth about going to the cemetary and looking for the Mavin Sword.

I have tried loading previous saved games and entering Ishad Nah with the same results. I am in the process of loading W&W on another machine to see if I get the same.

Has anyone heard of/experienced this bug?

Confused and Frustrated!

Welcome to the board, Robin Siebler!!!

Some of what you describe sound like the standard Win2K or XP problems - the town problems. These should be solvable using the VIRTUALDUB fix which can be found on the one of the last pages in the BEST TIPS thread.

The example you gave of Gareth showing up again sounds like you "reset" the adventures (in the game option screens). Were you back in Valeia? You don't need to put your characters into the inn before exiting the game. I'm wondering if by doing so the game didn't think you were restarting the game. Did you keep all the original characters or did you happen to make any new ones?

We'll get this figured out for you. The Ishad N'ha problem should be resolved using the VIRTUALDUB. There are some terrific techie posters here regularly on this board who will certainly be able to offer you more assistance than I.

Welcome to the boards, Robin Siebler! May your journey through the Gael Serran inpsire bards for centuries to come...

As for the issue, it does sound like the video issue that's corrected by virtualdub. Check the Techie help desk thread (I'll bump it up if it's not visible) for details. And within the next few days, we should have the revised tech tips thread up for your review and use.

There are a couple of other Win2k/XP issues that are also listed in the help desk thread. You might want to review those as well, just in case one might help.
