What's up with my GeFarce2 GTS... I cannot get full OpenGL effects, only transparent fog of war but everything else is same as software mode. I know there's something wrong because a friend has great looking transparent spell effects with his Viper TNT!!!

I've tried the same drivers as he's got, but it does nothing, currently running NVIDIA's 12.90betas but it's looked the same with all the drivers I've tried (a plenty). I've also toyed with almost all the settings in the config file and definitely all the settings in the config prog. Anybody? Help!

Azag-Thoth, I have had a few problems with my open GL to? Did you try
turning 3d mode off sometimes that helps. sounds like actually you tried
everything I would have.Sure you have enough Ram those spell animations
eat up ram Big Time! All I can really suggest is you keep messing around
with it til you get it where you want it. Best of luck I see this was your
first post so mainly wanted to welcome you to the forum

Join the club! The 3D support in HoW is a joke. If I turn it on (and I'm using a 32MB Radeon) the game runs in slow motion. And I'm even trying to keep up to date with the drivers.

Doesn't have to do with IWD, but I did get the enhanced special effects in BG2/ToB to work though, but not the full blown 3D acceleration support-(does the same thing as in IWD/HoW).

Thanks guys/gals.

I've got plenty of RAM to handle the effects but it's a no-go anyways. Sucks a bit because the card my friend's using is my old TNT and it's turned out more functional in IWD than a GeFarce2. Just my kind of luck.
