lol, no they were very popular here for some reason, but I agree with spirits, they are annoying when they fall.

I remember those. LOL, it reminds me of these others during that time. It was two baseball sized glass or plexiglass translucent balls on two ends of a long string. If you held the string in the center, and moved your arms up and down enough, and fast enough, they'd clack together up and down. Hard to explain. Got kinda old real quick, and was a bit dangerous if you messed up LOL. I wish I remembered what that dang thing was called LOL.

I'm confused, yet somehow strangly aroused by this *clacking* talk.

My son's got one of those lethal weapons. It's a little different style... instead of being attached by two strings, the balls are held in place by two molded plastic strings. But the process is the same -- move it up and down to get them in a clacking rhythm.

Come to think of it, we've got one of the string ones too. There's not much difference between it and a set of bolos when you get down to it...

I used to have the hard plastic kind too, but prefered the old strings better

I believe they were called "Super Smackers". I believe they got pulled from the market because the balls had a tendency to shatter into a million pieces.
