I agree with you 100% but the thing I dont get is why do Americans in particular and others countries in general have an aversion to the wonderful stuff?

I think it's an "acquired taste," Azurewolf! I wouldn't expect other cultures to immediately embrace the subtle delights of "gumbo" immediately, either! (Heck, even I don't like Gumbo and I'm from Louisiana!)

For the record, I did try Vegemite once...it was extremely strong and although I did eat it, I didn't particularly care for it. I imagine if I continued acclimating myself to it, it would become more and more palatable to me.

True it is an aquired taste it just seems I havent met anyone not an aussie or kiwi that has actually liked the stuff. Must be our hardened constitution

My good friend Scronan (one of our IW members) in California loves it...and he's California born and bred. I guess it just hits people differently. But take heart, AW, because there are some americans out there who dig the stuff!

Vegemite...Marmite whats the difference?

Never had Marmite, but Vegemite is like eating your own shorts after a good 10 mile run in 100 degree heat
