Hi guys,

My bro finally bought neverwinter nights with both expansions yesterday. We both tried hooking up in a multiplayer vanilla SOU campaign. The only problem was that we both had an awful time even trying to connect with one another.

Here is the thing, we are both patched 1.68 and CEP 1.52. (although I am patched with Z's undermountain as well). Now for some bizzare reason, everytime he host the game, I could not find him even trying direct connect. If I hosted the game, then he is able to find me (we were able to resolve the issue of incompatible DM/client thing). We both turned off our firewalls but no luck at all. Does anyong know what can hamper in hiding someones IP address and not letting him connect???

He lives in Singapore and I Aussie if that means anything.

Also, Thank you for people trying to help me last night went I went for advice in undermountain! We were able to connect when I host but I actually wanted my brother to host the game since he is the one who hasnt played SOU+HOTU before.

Any suggestions guys? we are planning to do so again tonight

Sounds like his Router could be causing some issues. Make sure his router is configured to forward all NWN traffic (I think Port 5121) is being sent to his internal IP address on his router.

ahhh... we didnt think about that one. Thanks TDC. We thought only firewall could be the culprit.

Yeah that will most likly be it. Are you behind a router at all? Or are you directly connected to the modem?

I am using router, but he is able to connect to my games.. its the other way around that is the problem wherein I couldnt even find him online in NWN networks. Im not sure how his networking works but Ill suggest that idea you had TDC. I think thats our best shot.
