I call for help. Our computer has been infected with one nasty piece of spyware.. 'second thought' (or '2nd thought'). I've used Spybot, Adaware and Spysweeper. All without results. The manual tips somehow won't work, as it doesn't show up in my registery. People here are going quite nuts, and are looking to me to fix it. I'm completly clueless, however. Any advice would be most welcome.

It is. I checked it out on Google, and Pestpatrol is the first place that popped up. Unfortunately, it's pay2use, and the manual instructions won't work
Johnny: thanks m8, I'll give your program a shot

Hm.. the website of SecondThought offers an Uninstaller for the Spyware. Which, of course, requires downloading. What do you guys think.. are they to be trusted?

Try the McAfee one, it's free. Read the description, it automatically removes 41 known worms and any possible trojans it runs into. It never hurts to check it out.

I did. Came up with nothing. Most anti-Spyware programs do. This 'Second Thought' sh*t is tougher then anything I've seen before.

How did you know you got it? Does it come up with popups or something? Or is it more insiduous?

Every time you open the IE, you get one of those irrating 'do you wish to register with Second Thought' windows. It is one of the most agressive forms of Spyware around. Anyway, it is gone. I guess one of the numerous anti-spyware programs I downloaded must have dealt with it. All that remains now is finding the user responcible for getting this Spyware in the first place, and making sure it doesn't happen again.
