And just remember that, although we mostly don't mind shouting, on some servers it is considered the height of rudeness and can get you banned

Welcome Carson!! Next time I'm on I'll show some sights or give you a few toys to help get past some of the more difficult denizens ( you will alway know when Ung is on because you won't be able to pronounce it.. .. I think he is taunting me or questioning my parentage with some of those names....)

It's that Mac keyboard, man, I'm telling you. They are built different, or something.

Thanks...Garrison and Roddybug babysat and it went much better. However, now that I have an HIPS item, I need to rework my build to trade 10 SD levels for 13 Rogue.

How much should I worry about the XP penalty? One of the reasons for the SD levels was to get Epic Dodge without the penalty...I could try RDD and Dev Crit but that doesn't seem as much in character for an Elven Commando as Rogue or SD (and SD doesn't seem to offer as much for the levels).

What is your basic plan for the build? If it's simply Rogue/SD, then just stick with that. The problem with relying on items for feats for a prestige class, or skill set, is that Enforce Legal Characters is on, full time. With ELC on, if you find a better item, and replace the HIPS item, you won't be able to log the character back in.

No problems with ELC. I was planning a Bd/AA/SD, but with a HIPS item, I can switch to Bd/R/AA for the same basic character concept and a little extra benefit from the sneak attack damage. I know I may want to trade out the HIPS hood at some point for something else...no big deal, since it's not a prerequisite for anything.

Picked my Easter present. Cool, but I wonder how high my UMD needs to be to use Monk rings? Edit: UMD>=35 I would guess. May have to wait awhile.

Does any character other than an AA or WM have much of a chance here? I'm already thinking of trying something different like a druid/shifter...I know there has been one here in the past, but it seems like from all reports it's too tough to kill off the worst baddies without archer or master.

I did a lvl 40 Epic Bard that did ok. She had some struggles with some bosses, but with good buffs, and the curse song debuff, it made for some interesting fights.

I have a monk/rogue that does fine in most circumstances - can move fast and throw spells when required, and I have various other mixes including ranger/assassin and fighter/CoT/rogue who also do very well and can take on the bosses in admittedly long but always fun battle.

Toot, amongst others, has various Mage mixes, including the formidable Al, who are good enough to solo even in deep levels.

EFU is very well designed and set up with equipment to help balance out the various class combos and the truth is that most well-constructed and properly equipped characters can do well - just remember that the right equipment for a fighter isn't necessarily right for a non-tank and all will be happy-smiley in the end .
