It seemed like more of a popularity contest than a game.

Okay, I finally watched the second half tonight. I *LOVED* the final tribal council -- rip 'em apart and throw away the pieces. I think that the further you went in the game with alliances, the harder the eventual vote-out was. Those who were booted off early (Hatch) weren't relying on or counting on anyone. Those who were loners at the end (Shii Ann) didn't have any emotional investment in the other players either. Those who thought there was some friendship involved (Big Tom, Lex) felt betrayed and hurt.

My wife noted that Amber could not make a single decision on her own... not even who to give a car to. Rob had to keep telling her to make up her mind, until he finally gave her a thought about how to do it -- "the deciding vote". Pure coat-tail ride, for sure... which is probably the smartest way to do it.

Ah, well... enough for now. At least, until September...

Popular because of how he played the game. And we all like pirates... ahoy!

That's exactly what the public vote was - which is why I'm glad they never went to the Big Brother type format of public votes during the game, because they're never based on anything other that whether people 'like' the contestant. But I'm pleased it went this way because Rupert is so cool and lovely and he really did play with integrity and class - unlike all the soreheads at tribal council who would have been just as sneaky had they had the opportunity.

I wanna see them do a Survivor in the Artic... or Greenland or somewhere VERY cold.. It's always Islands and beaches... nice to see the ladies in skimpy swimsuits, I know, but it'd be something different.

What about Africa?
Still hot in Africa, so still women running around in bikini tops. I agree with Ziroc. How about Alaska? Plenty of natural resources to survive off of, not too cold (jet stream brings in warmer air from the south), and still could get a good show out of it. They like to throw the traditions of the natives of the region onto the show, so you could have Inuit (Eskimo) traditions and game elements.

Of course, if you really wanted to be vicious, you could send them to Siberia or Antartica...
