Question Mark

i am sorry everyone is having so many downs, but thank goodness some of us are having ups. not me in particular, but i am trying to stay positive.

it is nearly 930 here and nathan was supposed to get off work at 9, he is not home yet. but he may have visited our friends house to check his computer...theyw anna know if it's salvagable. no idea when he will get home if he is there.

i miss him so much...at my counseling session (yeh i have a psychologist, i need one with all the stress inmy life!) she asked us to ask the other one thing to comply with and nathan asked me not to nag him to get off the computer, so even when he is home he is on the comp and i am staring blankly at tv wishing i could nag him off the computer for some talking. i am so friggin lonely!!!! y'know if i didn't know it would bring up porn i'd look for a lonely housewives forum to post on.

and i don;t feel like cooking tomorrow but nathan refuses to let us go down to my parents for dinner. id on't wanna cook! i don't feel good all around and i am just not int he mood to deal with him trying to play ont he computer while i am trying to handle a giant turkey and erilyn. i know he will try to help with her but he gets distracted by the computer or video games and then i end up with virtually no help at all.

anyway...enough griping i'm gonna call our friends house to see if my nathan is there.

i hope everyone is feeling better soon. i hope i am feeling better soon....ttyl!

Good luck tomorrow, Mistral. May the gods guide your tongue...

And if you want to make sure that this kind of stuff isn't a real challenge in the future, I suggest joining Toastmasters. One of the areas that you work on as a Toastmaster is impromptu speaking; once you've practiced for a while, it actually becomes quite fun.

Thanks very much, Bungleau

The Toastmasters Club idea is pretty good, and I will seriously consider it next year. I am not sure what the market conditions are like, but I am putting in about 58 hours of work per week (sometimes more than 12 hours per day) and it is zapping away my energy and time for fun. Looks like I'll have to find some way of working smarter, or just let work pile up without feeling guilt

I apologise if my posts have not been too optimistic, everyone... it is a rather trying time at the office I promise to find positive stuff to post about, next time

Question Mark

I was in Toastmasters for a while, but it didn't help nearly as much as several years of teaching/tutoring others in math did. The year I spent in an inbound call center helped, too.

RevRuby, sorry to hear about what is going on. For a while Belle really thought I was spending too much time on the computer, so we agreed to set my watch to time me--after one hour of uninterrupted computer-based entertainment I would shut it off. After a while we didn't have to time anyhing anymore. Best of luck!

This is the beginning of two days off and I am currently enjoying a glass of Chablis. Needless to say, this is an enjoyable evening.
