I'm about to install DSOTSC and I have a question. What types of weapons are the best weapons to be found in the expansion? I don't want to go half way through the game just to discover that this really cool weapon that I found is useless to me. Again, I don't want specifics, just the weapon class. Example - large sword or spear or.....so on and so on. Thanks.

I'm running a Paladin through a DSOTSC game right now. There is some really good armor, sword, ring and helmet for a Paladin in the game, but you have to buy it. (I can't recall where I purchased it either.) I'll try to remember other items and will post again with additional information as necessary,

There's also some nice Druid-only items in there.

on the subject of Totsc and dsotsc, Do they just add new map areas, or do they add stuff into the origional saga as well? I don't want to play through the game, get the expansion, and then have to go back through everything just to find the three minute things in each area. Don't tell me any spoilers, please, but just wether or not the expansions add stuff into the regular part of the game.

You have to start a new game to play the new quests. There's stuff scattered throughout the old areas as well as new areas and quests.

Remember this: Talk to the squirrel.

talk to the squirrel? any squirrel? Will i know what squirrel it is when i see it, or will i spend three weeks going through the game on some wild rodent rampage, hunting down every beast less than three feet tall and demanding that it talk to me?

In Naskel, you can't miss him.

My first time playing BG1, back in the Fall of '01, I read in various walkthroughs on the web that there was this squirell that had a +1 luck ioun stone. I even posted about it and got a lot of replies telling me to forget about it. I became obbsessed with finding this squirrel. I was like Bassaliss, off in the corner somewhere in the woods chewing on some poor squirrel. I was on the Druid's of the Sword Coast ten most wanted list. Everytime I came out of the bushes with another squirrel, they were hunting me down like the Flaming Fist in chapter 7. I would hear "I serve the flowering bush!". I ended up finding it with the Dark Side installed. It's a funny encounter as well. So far I really have enjoyed the little and not so little surprises that the DS has to offer. I have a long way to go and I won't do the extra quests until much later on; so, I don't have much to say yet. Enjoy!

Nooooooooooo......

Now I have to look for a squirrel. It is going to be like trying to find the armor in Naskel the first time. This time they gave me a cloak of partial invisibility or something. I now have DSOTCS installed and I am going through the game again.

HA!HA!HA!HA!

He exist, it is true the chatting squirrel is real. The first squirrel I talked to was the one to. It was when I came out of the ____. I saw this little guy all by himself walking around the humans in Naskel. So I moused over and he had a name. I had to talk to him several times before he gave me his lucky rune stone.

Maybe both me and Telchar of Nogrod are insane but I tell you he exist.
