Pooky aka Alexandrea Nichole had to be switched to prescription food and bottled water. If it's just being naughty (being a cat, that is normal) clean the area with some of the suggestions you've gotten and put down something that kitty doesn't like the smell of like a strong smelling potpourri or incense.

Just clean it up for now, and make sure you get the smell completely gone.
Try to catch her in the act if she does it again; and move her into her toilet tray when she starts scratching. Also, is she desexed yet ?? If not, she may be on heat; in which case she would start spraying everywhere. Is she doing everything else normally ?? Because if she IS desexed, she might THINK she`s pregnant or on heat. That happens especially when they`re 2-3. |

If it does turn out to be a urinary tract infection or somesuch, before starting another on prescription food, you can just try Tuppence on low-ash food. Buy cat food labeled for Urinary Tract Health (if they carry it there). Here in the States, most groceries carry it - both Purina and 9-Lives have it reasonably priced, then you go up to Pedigree or Iams, but those are more expensive. Still, if any are available, it's less expensive than getting it from your vet.
But have her checked before worrying overmuch. However, Moni was correct in that they won't necessarily quit eating, they just are uncomfortable and tend to 'go' in places they shouldn't. Tika continued to eat just fine even the day I took her to the vet for testing.
