Ok I just started chapter 3, but before I take the boat trip I thought I would do a couple more quests.

My only proper ones left are

Planar Sphere
Cult of the Eyeless,

Also I'm close to solving the Umar Hills thing, and I'm wondering does anyone think I should try and Slay the shadow dragon, and if so, any tips.

I have at the moment a LEVEL 12 FIGHTER, AERIE LEVEL 11/12 EDWIN LVL 12, YOSHIMO LVL 14

IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH TO TAKE ON THE SHADOW DRAGON AND/OR DO THE PLANAR SPHERE +CULT OF EYELES.S

Yes, you can take on the Shadow Dragon and the Planar Sphere with the party you have now. No, the Cult of the Eyeless if a very difficult quest (one of the hardest) and it has to deal with tons of battles with Beholders and Beholderkin. Tips for the Shadow Dragon.. hmm. I would say Summon Monster, Lower Resist, and tons of Magic Missles will do the trick. Summon the monsters to fend the Dragon off while you cast Lower Resist, then attack with your tanks, then shoot every Magic Missle you have. There are better tips than this, but I haven't spent the time to battle anything, I just outright kill them..

I tried to kill the Dragon; he blew me away. But now my characters have more experience and I'm going back to give it another shot. Is he carrying anything good, so I shouldn't use Disintigrate on him?

>>Shadow Dragon Scales. Some of the best Armor can be forged from this. I wouldn't use Disintigrate if I were you.

What kinds of "protections" should i cast on the party before fighting him?
I cast "remove fear"-- (it casts a fear-resist on the entire party - nice) and fire resists before killing the red dragon-- Does SHadow dragon cast cold-fire, electrical, or red-(hot) fire breaths? What other buffers should i put up?

Also-- any tips on some spell which would prevent being put into a "maze"? Even a "Ring of free action" does not prevent this-- i know Berserkers (Minsc, Korgan) while berserk cannot be put into a maze but any other spells to protect someone from this?
