well, if that were the case then Denmark could lay claim to Newfoundland (or is it Labrador?), and we would loose the prescious commodity known as Skreech.
and I'm fairly certian there's no oil up there.....maybe diamonds, but then, I'm not a geologist.

And are any other Canucks out there just as sick of Stockwell Day and opposition as I am? I don't know exactly where I stand politically, but I wish the opposition party would actually DO something rather than just crap on everything the Liberals are doing, though they need a good smack too.

ah, screw politics, everyone to my cabin in the woods for a good old fashioned bush party!!!! a couple drinking contests should clear this matter right up

Whackmeister, lay off the Molsons commercials.

On to the island.

It doesn't matter that it some barren rock in the middle of nowhere. It is precedent. What about when the Russians plant there flag on the next island? Or the Danes plant theres again on the next one? Or the Americans plant theres on one near Alaska?

Roll over and let it happen?

No, send a KC-135 up there with 3-4 Hornets armed with anti-ship missiles. Followed shortly by a team of troops with a flag to replant.

Just to start...I'm Canadian.

Ilander...I didn't take offence, I knew you were talking about the band. I do consider myself patriotic but we have our own problems in Canada. Sure, our political scandals don't get the the media coverage that the american presidency gets but that doesn't mean that our politicians haven't been "caught with their pants down"....or in one premier's case..."caught drinking and driving".
Also....just to clear up facts on nuclear power. Yes, american's have it and use it but, well, its Canadian Technology. Canadian nuclear physicists have setup power plants in a number of countries...Korea being another one...I believe called the Candu nuclear power plant. (No offense to Americans) - oh-huh....I think I may have started something else here...

But with that piece of rock in the Artic.... if its Canadian soil, Danish military shouldn't be there. and I agree its is a major guantlet toss. I hope, we ( meaning our politicians ) don't take any of that cr*p.
