I have to reinstall NeverWinter Nights.
somehow, the program got it into its head that it is not in the main installation directory after over a year of being in the spot where it is now.
I hope I can find my disks and do an install that won't ruin the amount of stuff I have saved there. if it does, I will be VERY annoyed...

and now it gets even better...
just put in the disk to reinstall it and it gave me the exact same message. what the hell gives?!?

If you just do a reinstall it shouldn't touch your hak or override folders. Just to be on the safe side make a copy of your hak, tlk, override, portrait, localvault, erf directories.

I think thats all of them that should effect your online play....

Well, it gave me the option (when uninstalling) to leave all my extraneous directories and non-Bioware stuff alone. So far so good, as I am on disk 2 of 4 for my reinstallation. What I don't understand is why it is doing this now. I have no illegal files on my machine in regards to Neverwinter Nights, and everything was working perfectly up until this morning. Sure, I need to purchase a new motherboard and processor, but that's only for speed. I am just hoping it was a minor glitch that required a major overhaul.

Vandamnit. All my perfectly good overrides are gone. No matter, I just have to reinstall that override package that gave me colourful icons again. I should still have it, and even if I don't I know where to go on the NWVault website to pick them up a second time. Still, I find this annoying AND disturbing.
