Why is it that every time the US gets in some catastrohe nobody help them. The SF earthquake, the Atlanta bombing, those railroad tracks that got derailed. I mean when other country experiences some type of catastrohe were their to help. But instead of getting a "Thank You" other countries say that were interfering and that it's not any of our business.

Even with that incidents in New York... i dont' see any countries physically sending aide to us. Sure they say were here for u, but really they dont' do crap.

seeing as all air travel to our country was prohibited, it would be rather hard to send help at this time.
i have seen accounts of several countries having their emergency disaster rescue specialists on standby in the event they were needed.
but they couldnt very well fly over here.

I agree. Nostron, I hope you just said that without thinking. We care, we sympathise and have showed we are behind you for 100%. I think it's unfair to accuse us of not wanting to help. I don't have a creditcard, but have donated together with my boyfriend who has one, as I know have many others in Europe and the rest of the world.

one other point,
have you noticed the size of our country.
we have all the resources you could possibly want for this.
we have all the specialists that are neccissary. we have more people that want to help, than room for them to do so. In our case it is truly "the though that counts" more than the actual physical need for them to do so.

This statement is a bit unfair, Nostron. Where are you getting your facts from? As well as condolences, Australia has offered to send a squad of firefighters to the US. The US has at this stage decided to use its own resources to handle the rescue work. NATO has said that an attack on the US is an attack on all member nations and has pledged their resources to assist in any military action that may be required. The British have said that they are ready to assist in any means possible and knowing the British they would have no hesitation in sending people over to assist.

The United States takes great pride in its self-sufficiency, infrastructure and ability to cope with adversity standing on its own two feet. I think this is the reason you don't see physical assistance from other countries in New York and Washington, rather than any lack of caring from the part of America's allies.

exactly, (i just didnt want to sound like a snot )
there are americans in other states that would like to help.
but there just isnt room. the damage is in a rather confined space you know.
people are giving so much blood that they are turned away and told to come back later.

The reason we go help in these kinds of situations so very often is because many countries dont have the means to deal with a disaster on their own.
We, having so many resources to draw from, should feel obligated to do what we can to help.

I'd quote everybody, but that would be a rather big post.

Here in Idaho the Red Cross is running overtime with blood donations. They dont have the staff to handle all of the people literally lining the streets to give. I had to make an appointment. I have heard of similiar conditions from all of our allies. Money is pouring in from every quarter. Thoughts, cards, flowers, and prayers are flooding NY and DC. In every Embassy, people are leaving flowers, cards, and stuffed animals. So, its a bit unfair to say that the rest of the world isn't helping.

UK has sent its best sniffer dogs from Scotland!
These are veterans from Turkey Earthquake, Drug Bugging Operations and Many other things. Also Britain has offered its intelligence community to aid the CIA.

You are the richest country in the world. You expect the poor ones to bail you out when you have more than enough of your own?
Britain had teams of experts ready to come help with the rescue work, but no way to get there.
Please don't be unreasonable!
