Windows 7 Hotkeys
There is no better place than to gain info. I have inadvertently closed two separate IE browsing sessions while typing inside of a "blackboard" session. Does anybody know what the key combo is for closing IE8 on a Win7 rig? "Shift" is surely one of the required keys, however, I cannot duplicate it while just browsing!

Re: Windows 7 Hotkeys
I know that Ctrl + T and Ctrl + W control tabbed browsing sessions, opening and closing new tabs of IE. Not sure if there's one to close it involving Shift, although many functions have 2 alternate hotkey combos to do the same thing so maybe you entered one of those. I note that you said they were two seperate sessions, so I am assuming you mean 2 instances of IE open rather than 2 tabs. Should be able to find it online if there is one.

Re: Windows 7 Hotkeys
Fat finger + sensitive keyboard = a key combo of Shift Ctrl W, which in turns closes the session. Brilliant, a Guinness for you!

Re: Windows 7 Hotkeys
Ctrl-W is the equivalent to ctrl-F4, and will close the tab you're currently in. If that's the last (or only) tab, it closes the window.
That's not just IE behavior... any window should respond to Ctrl-W.

Re: Windows 7 Hotkeys
Yessir, I knew that one, and knew it was not the culprit, as typing "Ctrl F4" while in a text box on a blackboard assignment would be stretching the fingers a bit more than comfortable.

Re: Windows 7 Hotkeys
nah, ctrl F4 would be more or a pinky + index finger maneuver
Most people while typing will use the thumb almost exclusively for the space bar.

Alt + F4 might be what you're looking for.
